The Marcus Wallenberg Prize 
The purpose of the Prize is to recognize, encourage and stimulate pathbreaking scientific achievements which contribute significantly to broadening knowledge and to technical development within the fields of importance to forestry and forest industries.

Winners

1983 – Bruno Andersson, Egon Höglund, Bertil Johansson and Bengt Thöresson, Sweden

For their pioneering accomplishment in papermaking by specifying and applying an ingenious method of conveying the paper safely at high speeds through the dryers of the papermachine. Their achievement has thus significantly promoted increased productivity of papermachines world-wide.

1984 – Leopoldo G Brandão, Edgard Campinhos Jr, Ney M Dos Santos and Yara K Ikemori, Brazil

For their pioneering work leading to significant scientific and technological breakthroughs in developing commercial forests based on cloned Eucalyptus. Their methods have stimulated world-wide emulation. The high productivities achieved will reduce pressures on natural forests.
